What happens when a couple’s vision for a modern, gourmet design elopement meets one of Tuscany’s most historic villas? The result is a bold statement about personal style. For Charlotte and Chris, their love for the history and architecture of Villa di Geggiano was matched only by their desire for a truly contemporary celebration.
They wanted the rolling vineyards and ancient cypress trees, but they also envisioned a dining experience that was sharp, sophisticated, and entirely their own.
It’s a special feeling to stand inside this villa. You feel like you are breathing in a piece of wonderful history. Our challenge, and our pleasure, was to honor that feeling while creating something completely new within its walls.
Our Favorite Moment
Without a doubt, it was the reveal of the dinner table. Charlotte had a specific and impressive design brief, and seeing it come to life inside the villa’s frescoed entrance hall was a powerful moment. This is where a true partnership comes into play. Creating this level of private dining is about our trusted relationships, and we worked with the super high-quality private chef, Giacomo Pietri, to build an incredible experience.
We placed a large, round table with a rose gold pedestal base and a black glass top directly in the center of the long, mural-covered corridor. On top, we set contemporary Versace plates, surrounded by cascading flowers and mixed-colored candles.
We hung a chandelier above, dimming the lights to create a soft, romantic ambiance. As Chef Pietri began serving a multi-course menu with paired wines, the modern design didn’t fight the history. It conversed with it.
Capturing the images of this scene, with the soft light hitting the artful plates and the ancient frescoes, was about documenting more than a meal. It was about capturing the essence of Charlotte and Chris’s personal story.
