Choosing Your Lake Como Venue
Most couples we speak to are choosing between four kinds of place.
A Private House
Villa Noseda is a private house on the lake, and you have it to yourselves. You stay for two nights, get married in the garden, and the boat leaves from your own pontoon.
Lakeside Gardens
Villa Carlotta, Villa Monastero, and Villa del Balbianello are the gardens people come to Lake Como to see.
Your ceremony is in a private space. Afterwards you take photographs in the grounds, and then you go out on the boat.
A Five-Star Hotel
Passalacqua is a five-star hotel on Lake Como in Moltrasio.
The package includes a night there and a private space in the gardens for your ceremony.
Once the ceremony is over, you take photographs in the grounds, and then you leave from the hotel dock for the boat tour.
Private Estates
Villa Pizzo is a sprawling estate along the lakefront. You can choose from the Darsena Terrace or a smaller terrace for your ceremony spot.
You can arrive by boat or car, have the ceremony, take your photographs and then continue on by boat. This package is on weekdays.
Villa Balbiano is a grand villa on the lake, and the ceremony and photographs are in the gardens. You get ready at your hotel, come to the villa for the ceremony, take your photographs, and then continue on by boat. Your time at the villa is two hours, and this package is for the two of you.

What is not included
Your flights aren’t included. Dinner isn’t included either, but we arrange dinners for couples all the time, so just tell us if you’d like one.
Villa Noseda includes two nights, and Passalacqua includes one. Those are the only packages on the lake that include a night, and any nights beyond those aren’t in the price.
The extras you add in the Package Builder, such as an upgrade to a Riva wooden boat or a videographer, aren’t in the starting price.
Can your family come?
The prices are for the two of you. In most cases you can add a few other guests. You stay on the same package, and the price may slightly increase to cover them. If you’d like more people with you, from about 8 to 30, that’s a small wedding. We put together a quote for each one, and our small wedding in Italy page explains how we plan them.
A symbolic ceremony, or a legal one
Most couples have a symbolic ceremony at their venue and complete the legal marriage at home. We can also arrange a legal ceremony in Italy. It needs more paperwork and more time, and the town hall fees are separate.
Example Lake Como Elopement Timeline
Every day is planned around your venue, but this is how a typical afternoon runs, timed for the best light.
- 2:30 pm: Your photographer meets you where you are getting ready, at the venue or at your hotel.
- 3:00 pm: Photos of your dress, rings, and the other details you want remembered.
- 3:45 pm: Getting-ready portraits.
- 5:00 pm: The ceremony, in your private space.
- 5:30 pm: Photographs at the venue.
- 6:15 pm: You go out on the boat for about an hour, and we take more photographs on the water.
- 7:15 pm: The boat returns and the photography ends. Dinner is not part of the package. If you want one, we will arrange it for you.
