Some couples feel they must choose between the architectural grandeur of a historic city and the quiet romance of the countryside. Amanda and Aaron wanted both. Their vision was for a classic Cortona elopement, a day that started with a private, emotional moment and ended with an unforgettable dinner in a medieval castle.

Their day began not with a public reveal, but with an intimate one. They shared an emotional first look in the gardens of their hotel, Villa di Piazzano. It was a quiet, personal start to their adventure. From there, wanting to experience the day side-by-side, they traveled to Cortona together.

Our Favorite Moment
The flow of this day was everything. After their formal civil ceremony in Cortona’s impressive town hall, Amanda and Aaron descended the ancient steps into the main square with their two friends. We believe a wedding day needs moments to breathe, so we built in time for them to sit at a local bar and share a glass of Prosecco, letting the reality of and excitement of their union sink in.

The true highlight, however, was the finale we arranged. After photos in the countryside, they arrived at a 15th-century castle. From its tower, they watched the sunset over the Tuscan hills while enjoying canapés and Prosecco. As dusk settled, they didn’t have to leave. They moved inside the castle for a romantic dinner for two, surrounded by stone walls and candlelight. It was a completely private, atmospheric end to their day, an experience created just for them.
