Catherine & Matthew

There is a specific moment in early April when Tuscany awakens. It’s a time of intense, almost electric green, when the rolling hills are covered in fresh growth and the air holds the promise of the coming season. For Catherine and Matthew, their spring elopement in Tuscany was designed to capture exactly this feeling. They envisioned a day that felt romantic and elegant, completely immersed in the beauty of the landscape as it came to life.

A Design Inspired by Spring

The heart of their day was the ceremony at the villa’s stone temple. To bring their vision to life, we softened the ancient stone with drapes of soft pink fabric. Asymmetrical floral arrangements, filled with lush greenery and hundreds of blush and cream garden roses, appeared to climb the pillars, echoing the wild, romantic feeling of a Tuscan garden in bloom. It created a beautifully personal space for them to exchange their vows.

Catherine’s choice of a modern, architectural gown with a dramatic bow at the back was a statement of personal style against the classic backdrop. Paired with Matthew’s sharp, dark suit, their look was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and contemporary taste.

An Afternoon of Golden Light

After the ceremony, we chased the sun. The soft, golden light of the spring evening was perfect for creating the heirloom images they dreamed of. We explored the villa’s grounds before driving into the countryside, where the hills were at their most vibrant and green. It was an afternoon spent capturing not just portraits, but the quiet, joyful feeling of two people alone together in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

As dusk settled, they returned to the villa for a private dinner for two, surrounded by candles and flowers, ending a perfect day with a final, intimate celebration.

Planner’s Perspective: The Beauty of Certainty

Early spring weather in Tuscany can be unpredictable. Catherine and Matthew chose Villa Valentini Bonaparte precisely because its beautiful interiors offered certainty. Knowing they had a perfect Plan B allowed them to relax completely and look forward to their day, whatever the forecast. In the end, the sun was bright and the air was warm. That beautiful weather felt like a gift, a wonderful bonus to a day that was already guaranteed to be perfect.
