The best time to go
April, May, September and October are the months most couples choose. The weather is warm, and the city is quieter than in midsummer.
We plan July and August too, with the ceremony in the evening, when it’s cooler.
Carnival and Easter fill the city. In winter, high water can flood the lower parts, including St Mark’s Square.
We can arrange an elopement at short notice if the venue is available, but the venues are popular and book up quickly. Most couples book 6 to 12 months ahead.

Legal or symbolic?
Most couples have a symbolic ceremony at their venue and complete the legal marriage at home. We can also arrange a legal ceremony in Italy. It needs more paperwork and more time, and the town hall fees are separate.
